Baku: Azerbaijan canceled the Armenia talks, and rejected France’s involvement in the talks.
According to Al Jazeera, Azerbaijan took a big step on the ‘insult’ of Baku by France, the leader of Azerbaijan said that France cannot participate in peace talks with Armenia after “insulting” Baku.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that his country does not want France to participate in peace talks with Armenia.
The President of Azerbaijan canceled the quadrilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron and European Council President Charles Michel scheduled for December 7 in Brussels.
Aliyev said on Friday that Macron had “attacked” and “insulted” the capital Baku, so we can no longer sit with each other.
He accused Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashyan of insisting on becoming France’s broker for the talks and thereby trying to derail the talks.
Speaking at a conference with international representatives in Baku, Aliyev said Macron attacked Azerbaijan, accusing us of doing what we did not do. He said the French leader adopted an ‘anti-Azerbaijani stance’, and ‘insulted’ Baku, it is clear that under these circumstances, with this attitude, France cannot be part of the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
