Ayman al-Zawahiri’s body is missing?

Kabul: Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid says that no trace of Ayman al-Zawahiri’s body has been found yet, the matter is being investigated.

According to the international website, the spokesman of the Taliban in Afghanistan, Zabihullah Mujahid, has confirmed that the investigation into the death of Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri is ongoing.

In an interview to Al-Arabiya channel, he said that Tehreek-e-Zawahiri had failed to reach Zawahiri’s body, as no trace of him had been found so far and the Taliban were not aware of his presence at the site.

He added that this case has various dimensions, investigation is going on and we will announce the results after completion.

Zabihullah Mujahid said that the missile that hit al-Zawahiri’s house destroyed everything, the said area is very secure and is not usually inspected.

Zabihullah Mujahid termed the operation carried out by the US as a violation of the Doha Agreement and said that it will have negative consequences.

Remember that US President Joe Biden announced on August 2 that the US had killed al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri in Kabul. Al-Zawahiri’s death is the biggest blow to al-Qaeda since the death of Osama bin Laden in 2011. .

The incident raises doubts about the extent to which the Taliban have fulfilled their pledge not to harbor armed groups.

The operation is the first announced attack by the US on a target in Afghanistan. Washington withdrew its troops from the country on August 31 last year, a few days after the Taliban returned to power.

Al-Zawahiri is believed to have been the mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks, directed several al-Qaeda operations, including the September 11 attacks, and was bin Laden’s personal physician.
