AVM’s magnetic door/window contact Fritz Dect 350 is now available for the smart home. At the start, however, only from two providers: Media Markt and Saturn.
Fritz Dect 350 costs 39 euros from both providers. AVM had already announced this price in the fall. There are also 2.99 euros shipping costs.
You attach Fritz Dect 350 to doors or windows. The window/door contact immediately detects whether they are open or closed. Like all smart home devices from AVM (radiator thermostats, adapter plugs, lights, thermometers, etc.), Fritz Dect 350 also requires a Fritzbox as a control center. But this also means the other way around: Unlike the usual smart home systems, you don’t need an additional gateway/base station for the Fritz Dect 350.
The window/door contact, together with the smart radiator controllers Fritz Dect 302 and 301, can help save heating energy. Scenarios such as “If the window is open, then turn down the heating” can be easily set up. All other Fritz Smart Home and compatible Zigbee devices can also be controlled with Fritz Dect 350, so that users can set up many other scenarios and routines.
You can see the status of the sensor, i.e. open/closed windows/doors, in the Fritz Smart Home app, on the Fritzfon and in FritzOS. According to AVM, Fritz Dect 350 is so small that it can be installed concealed between the window frame and the window sash on many windows with a Euro rebate using the adhesive strip provided. It should generally blend in unobtrusively with its subtle design.

Insert the batteries, press the Connect button on the Fritzbox or connect Smart Home via the Fritz app. Fritz Dect 350 should then be available. You can make the individual settings in the Fritzbox user interface. Regular updates are intended to keep the Fritz Dect 350 up to date. As usual, the updates are free and are installed automatically via the Fritzbox.
