Avianca inaugurates 7 routes from Colombia to the US, Chile and Brazil as of December 8

The airline Avianca will inaugurate seven new routes in December and January from Colombia to the United States, Chile and Brazil, to which is added the reactivation of 15 more for the year-end season, the company reported on Tuesday.

"With the inauguration and reactivation of more than 20 direct routes during 2022, we continue to consolidate our Avianca for all"said the president of the airline, Adrian Neuhauser, quoted in a statement from the airline.

As of December 8, Avianca will begin to operate routes from the city of Pereira, in the tourist region of the Eje Cafetero, to Miami, New York and Medellín.

Likewise, that day the routes will be enabled from Bucaramanga, capital of the department of Santander, and Santa Marta, in the Caribbean, with Miami.

In January, meanwhile, Avianca will connect Cartagena de Indias with Sao Paulo and Santiago de Chile.

On the other hand, the company announced the reopening of 15 routes for the year-end season from Colombia to the US and Mexico; from Costa Rica to Cancun and Washington, and from Guayaquil to Lima.

In the high season, the airline expects to transport more than four million people in more than 17,000 flights in 24 countries and 76 destinations in America and Europe.

That means that it will offer 20% more routes compared to the low season and 10% more capacity in terms of available seats per kilometer.

The president of Avianca assured that 2022 was a year of progress for the company in "strategic projects such as the agreement to create Grupo Abra together with GOL; the simplification of our fleet to keep the A320 and B787 aircraft; the reconfiguration of the A320 to increase 20% more capacity with 3 differentiated seats".

"By 2023 We will continue to consolidate our business vision with the clear goal of being the preferred airline for millions of travelers in Latin America"he concluded.
