According to the Australian media, two soldiers of the Australian forces jumped into the water to swim in the Cape York peninsula, about 800 km north of Cairns. Meanwhile, a bloodthirsty crocodile in the water attacked a soldier who sustained head and chest injuries.
According to media reports, at the same time, another soldier reached the help of the wounded comrade and the crocodile also attacked him. The other wounded soldier suffered arm and wrist injuries. He was rushed to a hospital for medical treatment.
A statement issued by the Australian Defense Ministry after the incident said the wounded soldiers were in satisfactory health.

On the other hand, the Queensland Department of the Environment has dispatched wildlife officers to the area to further investigate the incident.
Queensland is the state with the highest number of crocodiles in Australia, with between 100,000 and 200,000 crocodiles, according to Australian media reports from the Northern Territory.
