Australia revokes Djokovic’s visa and orders return

Melbourne. Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic’s problems in Australia don’t seem to end. In fact, the Australian government has canceled Novak Djokovic’s visa for the second time and has ruled that he be deported from the country.

Immigration Minister Alex Hawke said on Friday that he had exercised his privileges as minister to revoke the 34-year-old Serbian player’s visa on grounds of public interest. The Australian Open will start after three days. Djokovic’s lawyers can appeal to the Federal Circuit and Family Court.

Djokovic’s visa has been canceled for the second time. His visa was revoked by the Australian Border Force on his arrival in Melbourne last week because he did not meet the criteria required for medical exemption from Australia’s strict coronavirus vaccination rules. He spent four nights in the segregation hotel, after which the judge handed down a verdict in his favor on Monday.
