Kolkata: In the Indian state of Jharkhand, 3 MLAs of the Congress party were caught with bags full of currency notes.
According to Indian media, West Bengal police have arrested three Congress MLAs, Irfan Ansari, Rajesh Kichap and Naman Buxal Kongri after a huge amount of cash was recovered from their vehicle and confiscated the money.
Officials say that the three members were traveling on National Highway 16 with a bag full of notes, where they were stopped and arrested. The case has been handed over to CID for investigation.
The Congress has suspended these three members of the Jharkhand Assembly who were arrested.
The Congress has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of buying and selling MLAs to topple their coalition government in Jharkhand.
The Congress spokesperson said that members are being offered Rs 10 crores to topple the BJP government in Jharkhand.
