Attack by Indian Hindu extremists, former Muslim foreign minister’s house set on fire

According to police officials, a group of local Hindu extremists gathered outside Salman Khurshid’s house on Monday and chanted slogans.

Eyewitnesses said that Hindu extremists aggravated the situation in the presence of police. “Policemen were silent spectators when they set fire to the main door of Salman Khurshid’s house.”

Neighbors told local media that Hindu extremists opened fire in the presence of police, set Salman Khurshid on fire and entered the house threatening his daughter-in-law with dire consequences.

“I have also explained in my book that extremists do not belong to any religion. Hinduism is a beautiful religion that has given us the best culture. We are all proud of it,” he explained.

According to Indian media reports, such incidents are part of the norm in Uttar Pradesh. Last month, a mob of 200 people attacked a church. A local BJP leader claimed that the building was being used for “suspicious gatherings”.

Last month, mosques and Muslim properties were damaged in the northeastern state of Tripura, and videos of the violence went viral.
