Portuguese tennis star Francisco Cabral made a strong start at the Hangzhou tournament. Playing alongside Austria’s Lucas Miedler, the duo secured their spot in the second round of the doubles event. On Friday, they took down Uruguayan Ariel Behar and Belgian Joran Vliegen in a straightforward two-set victory.
Cabral and Miedler, who are the top seeds in this ATP circuit tournament held in China, faced little trouble in their opening match. They quickly took control, winning with set scores of 6-3 and 6-2. The entire match on the hard court lasted a quick one hour and fourteen minutes. It was a dominant performance from the seeded pair.
The 28-year-old Portuguese player and his Austrian partner will be back on court soon. Their next challenge comes on Saturday. In the second round, which is effectively the quarter-finals, they will face the team of Monegasque Romain Arneodo and Belgian Sander Gille.
