At least 22 Palestinians, including a journalist and his wife, died this Wednesday night after a series of bombings by the Israeli army against the Gaza Strip as part of their Military operations against the Islamic resistance movement (Hamas) in response to the October 7 attacks.
According to the Palestinian news agency WAFA, most of the victims were in the Nuseirat refugee camp in the center of the enclave when Israeli planes attacked, killing 17 civilians.
Reporter Ihab Nasrallah and his wife died after a bomb attack in the Zeitun district of Gaza City in which his three children were seriously injured.
More than 130 journalists have already been killed by Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip. In addition, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continued to carry out airstrikes against the southern city of Rafah, killing three people and destroying the Al-Farouk Mosque. An imminent military offensive is expected there following claims of defeating Hamas in Khan Yunis. Israel launched an offensive against Hamas in retaliation for the October 7 attacks that left 1,200 dead and 240 hostage. Since then, Palestinian authorities have reported the deaths of more than 29,300 Palestinians, as well as another 394 in the West Bank and East Jerusalem due to escalating actions by Israeli security forces and settlers.
