Astros top Angels in slam dunk with Alex Bregman’s grand slam

The Astros and Angels threw a batting fest at Minute Maid Park and those from Houston achieved the second win of the series by beating those from Los Angeles by score of 9-6.

Between the Astros and the Angels they connected 24 hits12 each, but the most spectacular was the Alex Bregman’s grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning to put the score 7-1 in their favor.

The Houston third baseman hit a fastball from Jacob Webb and sent it to left field for Mauricio Dubón, Jeremy Peña and Yordan Álvarez to score.

Besides, there were two other home runs in this epic duel of hits. After Bregman’s, Hunter Renfroe hit a solo home run in the top of the seventh to make it 7-2. After the Angels rally, Chas McCormick added his fifth home run of the season to add Houston’s eighth run.

Shohei Ohtani’s four hits

The game started with Shohei Ohtani’s single with a grounder to center. The second pick was an RBI triple in the third inning; the line went deep to center field and Luis Rengifo reached home plate.

The only at-bat he failed to get on base was the third, as the Japanese star was tagged out in a double play after grounding out to second.

The Angels scored four runs in the seventh and one was produced by the Japanese. Ohtani sent ‘Doña Blanca’ to left field for a double with which Rengifo passed the register again.

His last turn came in the ninth inning and ended in a single to right field. Ohtani scored the Angels’ sixth off a wild pitch from closer Ryan Pressly while it was Matt Thaiss’ turn.
