The entertainment world is buzzing after a shocking arrest. Actress Nandini Kashyap has been taken into custody in connection with a deadly hit-and-run case. This stems from an incident on July 25th that claimed the life of a 21-year-old student.
The tragic accident happened in Guwahati’s Dakshingaon area. It was around 3 AM on July 25th when 21-year-old Samiul Haque was trying to cross the road. Samiul was a student at Nalbari Polytechnic College. He also worked part-time at the Guwahati Municipal Corporation to help his family. He was reportedly coming home from work when a speeding SUV hit him hard. The driver did not stop and quickly left the scene.
Eyewitnesses at the accident site gave statements to the police. Along with CCTV footage from the area, these clues strongly suggested that Nandini Kashyap was driving the SUV. Police moved quickly on the case. They detained the actress late on Tuesday for questioning. After a long session, police officially arrested her around 1:30 PM on Wednesday, July 30th, in Guwahati. She is now set to appear in court.
Police Actions and Charges
Guwahati police have been taking the case very seriously. They are looking into every detail, including whether Nandini Kashyap was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. Police sources shared that Nandini faces charges under Section 279 of the Indian Penal Code, which deals with rash driving. She is also charged under Section 304A for causing death by negligence.
Police have confirmed they seized two of Nandini Kashyap’s cars. Both vehicles have been sent for forensic testing. This will help investigators gather more evidence about the crash.
Family’s Pain and Public Outcry
Samiul Haque was rushed to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital right after the accident. His condition was serious, so he was moved to Apollo Hospital. He fought for his life for four days but sadly passed away on the evening of July 29th.
Samiul’s family is heartbroken and is desperately pleading for justice. They want to know why their son, who was working hard to support them, lost his life this way. The student community is also very upset. The Assam Polytechnic Student Union has voiced its anger and is joining the family in demanding fairness and accountability for Samiul’s death.
