As part of these commemorations, a 65-minute documentary titled ‘Bhupen Da Uncut’ premiered on Sunday. Directed by Bobita Sharma, this film offers an intimate look into Hazarika’s remarkable life story.
50 Thousand People Recited a Poem
The spirit of remembrance truly shone through on Sunday morning. The ‘Asom Abritti Aru Sanskriti Parishad’ launched a unique initiative. At precisely 11:31 AM, an astonishing 50,000 people across the state gathered. They collectively recited the poem ‘Mrityu Jinar Gaan, Eta Gaan Ses Hol.’ In Tezpur, a place where Hazarika spent a significant portion of his life, over 300 individuals joined together for this moving recitation. Similar events unfolded simultaneously in 32 districts across the state, showcasing his widespread impact.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared his admiration for Hazarika on X, calling him a source of inspiration for everyone. “Only one day remains for the start of our beloved Bhupen Da’s birth centenary celebration,” Sarma posted.
