Asian champion Sri Lanka announced squad for India tour, Dasun Shanaka to take helm

The Sri Lankan team that will tour India in 2023 have announced their squad for the T20 and ODI series. The T20 series will be played between the two starting on January 3. At the same time, the ODI series will start from January 10. On this tour, Dasun Shanaka will lead the Sri Lankan team for both series. Whereas, there will be a change in the vice-captain. Kusal Mendis has been appointed vice-captain of the ODI team and spinner Wanindu Hasaranga will be the team’s vice-captain in the T20 series.

A 20-member Sri Lankan squad has been announced for both series. In this, different players have been selected for the ODI and T20 series. For example, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who played brilliant innings in the Asian Cup, will only make the T20 squad. Other than this, Nuwanthushara will also be included in the T20 squad only. At the same time, Nuwanidu batsmen Fernando and Jeffrey Vandersay will be part of the ODI squad only.
