After losing both games in the group stage, the Afghan side failed to reach the last four. Now let’s look at Super 4’s schedule.
A tough challenge for Team India in Super 4
The challenge will not be easy for the Indian team in Super 4. There the team will play their first game against Pakistan on September 10th. On September 12, he now meets the defending champions Sri Lanka. And on September 15, Team India meets Bangladesh. That means Rohit Sharma has to be careful. Because only these three teams have the power to defeat India. A single defeat in Super 4 can ruin the outcome of the final. Therefore, the Men in Blue must win all three games and try to get to the finals.
Afghanistan shoots itself in the leg
Sri Lanka scored 291 runs in the first innings in their last group game against Afghanistan. Afghanistan had to reach the target of 292 runs in 37.1 overs to win the match. The Afghan team was at times slightly on the way to victory. Mohammad Nabi had energized his team by playing a stunning 65-run, 32-ball inning in the middle overs. Najibullah Zadran and Rashid Khan also worked hard in the end. However, the Afghan team, who were easily on their way to victory, not only lost the Super 4 ticket but also the game. Wickets in the 38th over by Mujeeb Ur Rehman and Fazal Haq Farooqui turned the game around. Dhananjaya de Silva threw this shot for Sri Lanka and became a star with two wickets.
