Ashwin can create history by taking 3 wickets, along with Kumble-Harbhajan will also be a part of this special club

Starting from July 12, the Indian team will play the first match of the 2-match test series against the West Indies. Team India veteran Ravichandran Ashwin has come very close to making a great record in this test series. Ashwin currently holds the top position in the ICC Test Bowlers Rankings. If he manages to take 3 wickets in the first test against the West Indies, he will complete his 700 wickets in international cricket.

Missing out of the World Test Championship (WTC) final, Ashwin is expected to get a chance in this Test series. While Ashwin will complete his 700 international wickets by taking 3 wickets, he also has over 4000 international runs to his name. With this, Ashwin will become the first Indian player in international cricket to score 700 wickets and 4000 runs.

The name of former captain Anil Kumble is the first in terms of taking the most wickets in international cricket for the India team. Kumble took a total of 956 international wickets in his career. On the other hand, there is former spinner Harbhajan Singh, who has 711 international wickets to his name. Ashwin is at number three on the list with 697 wickets.

Ashwin has so far taken 474 wickets in 92 Tests for the Indian side at an average of 23.93. During this, he has done the feat of taking 5 wickets in an innings 32 times and 10 wickets in a match 7 times. Ashwin has taken 151 wickets in ODIs and 72 wickets in T20 Internationals.
