‘Ashraf Ghani escapes by helicopter full of dollars’

The Russian embassy in Kabul said in a statement, according to the news agency. The embassy said Ashraf Ghani fled and loaded so much cash into the helicopter that space became scarce and he had to leave the rest of his wealth behind.

The embassy said that Ashraf Ghani fled in a helicopter full of money and his 4 cars were full of banknotes. Ashraf Ghani tried to carry a bag full of bills but there was no more room for him to succeed.

The statement said that Russia will not close its diplomatic mission and will continue its diplomatic activities, trying to establish good relations with the Taliban.

The embassy spokesman said Russia was closely monitoring the current situation and was in no rush to recognize the new rulers.

Former Afghan President Ashraf Ghani is currently in Uzbekistan, trying to seek asylum in Western countries.

Ashraf Ghani’s asylum application in the United States is a priority.
