In a statement issued on Twitter, Dr. Omar Zakhilwal criticized Ashraf Ghani, saying that the Afghan president had ruled the country as if it were his personal property, extended his rule through political conspiracies, and missed many opportunities for peace.
He wrote that Ashraf Ghani used government media and social media resources to present himself as the country’s greatest leader, mismanagement, political conspiracies, ministers against the constitution and abuse of power. He extended his mandate.
The former ambassador said that if his country is struggling to survive today, Ashraf Ghani is responsible for it because Afghan forces doubted whether they were fighting for the survival of the country or to extend Ashraf Ghani’s rule.
He said there could be no peace in Afghanistan with Ashraf Ghani in power, adding that the president had missed many opportunities for peace.
