The countdown is on for the Miss Universe Latina 2025 grand finale, set to crown its winner this Monday, July 21st. Only eight hopefuls will remain to compete for the coveted emerald and ruby crown. The ultimate prize also includes a $100,000 cash award and a direct ticket to represent Latina women at the Miss Universe pageant in Thailand.
Just this Thursday, the competition saw a shocking exit. Ashley Flete, a strong contender from Venezuela, was eliminated from the reality show. This came as a surprise to many who had her pegged as a favorite. Sharing the danger zone with Ashley was Skarxi Marte from the Dominican Republic, another fierce competitor.
Colombian actor Fabián RÃos, a member of the judging panel, delivered the tough news. He praised Skarxi for her resilience and speaking abilities. “We’ve seen her effort from the very start,” RÃos explained, highlighting her tenacity. “I always say you must read and speak well; that opens doors. My decision today is also a warning before the final. The one saved is… Skarxi!” It was an emotional moment for both young women.
Ashley and Skarxi shared a heartfelt hug. They had once been teammates on the “Ruby” squad during an earlier stage of the competition. Later, Ashley was moved to the “Emerald” team before her elimination. Similarly, Osmariel Villalobos, also from Venezuela, had been transferred from the Emerald team to Ruby.
The Fast Track to the Grand Finale
In a surprise announcement, host Jacky Bracamontes revealed that the big finale would arrive much sooner than expected, taking place this coming Monday. With Ashley Flete’s departure, only eleven contestants are left in the running.
However, the final showdown will only feature eight of them. This means the pressure is on. This Friday will see the first semifinal, where one more contestant will be eliminated. Saturday is a much-needed rest day. Then, on Sunday, July 20th, the second semifinal will take place, sending two more models home just hours before the grand finale.
Since its launch on June 3rd, Miss Universe Latina has been a non-stop journey for its contestants. The show began with 30 aspiring queens. Six were cut in the very first week. The remaining 24 moved into a mansion, facing a series of new challenges. These tests pushed their quick thinking, focus, modeling skills, communication abilities, and even their acting talents to the limit.
