Discussions about former Indian fast bowler Ashish Nehra are intense. It is said that Nehra can become the head coach of the Indian team. Currently, the former bowler is the coach of the Gujarat Titans IPL franchise. Gujarat, led by Hardik Pandya, won the title under Nehra’s coach in their debut season. After that, the next season, i.e. 2023, the IPL franchise also reached the finals.
On the other hand, Rahul Dravid, the current head coach of the Indian team, is out of contract in November and he doesn’t want to extend his tenure. Because of this, it is announced that Nehra will become a coach. However, according to a report by PTI news agency, Nehra is not interested in becoming India’s coach as the former bowler has a contract with the Gujarat Titans until the end of 2025.
Speaking to PTI, a former BCCI official said: “Assuming India wins the World Cup, Dravid does not want to extend his tenure as he would like to finish his tenure on a good note. But if you ask me, after the World Cup, BCCI should think about different coaches for each format. He should ask Rahul Dravid to continue as Red Ball coach.”
Kindly to inform us that Rahul Dravid has been appointed as head coach of Indian team after Ravi Shastri’s tenure ended. Ravi Shastri’s contract ended after Team India were eliminated in the group stage of the 2021 T20 World Championship. In November 2021, this responsibility was then transferred to Rahul Dravid. Now it will be interesting to see if Rahul Dravid remains the team’s head coach or if someone else takes his place.
