Ashes 2nd Test Kevin Pietersen criticizes England batters approach against Lyon

  • Kevin Pietersen has criticized the England hitters’ technique against Nathan Lyon.
  • On the third day of the second Ash Test, the English team was down to 236 runs in the first inning.
  • Except for Malan and Root, none of the batters could cross the 40 mark for England.

Former England captain Kevin Pietersen has beaten his team’s batters in the second Ash Test in Adelaide. On the third day of the game, host team spinner Nathan Lyon was spinning with more turbulence than the field in front of which the English batters were seen battling. Pietersen has questioned the technique of the English batters against Nathan Lyon.

Ashes: James Anderson reached a unique century, he became the first player to reach this milestone in test cricket.

Taunting England’s batsmen, Pietersen tweeted: “Can anyone beat Lyon, because Lyon is playing so much better? They completed their 400 wickets at the Brisbane Test.”

Interestingly, in Brisbane, Jack Leach, a modest left arm spinner, was given a chance, but England does not have a single spinner in the ongoing Adelaide Test. The great Australian Shane Warne disagrees with Pietersen’s views when commenting on Fox Cricket.

Ashes: Mitchell Starc became the king of the day-night test, he became the first bowler to do so with the pink ball.

He said: ‘I thought all Australian bowlers would do well against England, but Nathan Lyon could have just taken a wicket but he kept the pressure on one end and the fast players on the other end did better. That’s it. Because the wickets of England kept falling.
