Former captain Michael Vaughan has questioned the England team’s selection. Vaughan said it was beyond his understanding why veteran pacemaker Stuart Broad was not included in the XI of the third Ash Test. Vaughan believes the away team has done a lot of wrong in Australia so far.

England, trailing 2-0 in the five-game series, left Broad and three other players in the XI up for grabs for Test 3 starting Sunday. Vaughan told ‘Fox Cricket’: “I mean an experienced bowler like Stuart Broad. He was not selected on Brisbane turf and he was not selected here either. He is really shocking.”

Vaughan said: “So far, the only thing they have done right on this tour is to be on time. Other than that, they have done everything wrong, whether in team selection or strategy.” He said: “Stuart Broad should have played here (in Melbourne), he should have played in Brisbane. Ironically, Stuart Broad won’t be able to throw David Warner ‘around the wicket on sloping ground. This is beyond comprehension.
