Aruna Irani Recalls Refusing to Shoot Scene with Rishi Kapoor in Bobby

Aruna Irani still gets embarrassed thinking about a scene from the 1973 film “Bobby” where Rishi Kapoor appears without clothes. The actress had initially refused to shoot the scene, but eventually gave in after director Raj Kapoor convinced her.

In a recent interview, Aruna Irani recalled her experience working with Rishi Kapoor on the film. She said that during the scene, Rishi Kapoor was supposed to come out of the bathroom without clothes, drying his hair with a towel. Aruna Irani was also supposed to be a part of the scene, but she had refused to shoot it, citing embarrassment.

However, after some persuasion from Raj Kapoor, Aruna Irani agreed to shoot the scene. She remembered that Rishi Kapoor had later asked her about her initial refusal to shoot the scene, and she had told him that she was embarrassed because she had to be a part of it. Rishi Kapoor had then asked her why she was objecting to the scene when he was the one who had to appear without clothes. Aruna Irani had replied that she was objecting because she had to be a part of the scene, and she had felt embarrassed.

The film “Bobby” was a romantic drama directed by Raj Kapoor, and it marked the debut of Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia. The film tells the story of a rich boy and a poor girl who fall in love despite the social differences between them. The film also starred Farida Jalal, Pran, Prem Chopra, Prem Nath, Jagdish Raj, and Durga Khote.
