Following his brilliant season, which also saw him win Men’s Player of the Year at the London Football Awards, Odegaard is expected to receive a pay upgrade at the Emirates Stadium. Although his current contract with Arsenal is two more years long, with an additional option until 2026, Paris Saint-Germain have been rumored to be considering making an offer for the player in the summer transfer window.

However, according to the Evening Standard, Arsenal have made it clear that Odegaard is not for sale under any circumstances this summer. The club is preparing to enter into contract negotiations with its captain in the near future. Furthermore, the player is reported to have an “excellent” relationship with manager Mikel Arteta and is keen to continue at Arsenal after a season in which the team failed to win the title.

Odegaard initially joined Arsenal on loan from Real Madrid during the second half of the 2020-21 season. His convincing performance, with two goals and two assists in 20 appearances, led the London club to sign him permanently for £30.1 million in the summer of that same year.

The Norwegian player is comfortable in North London and plans to stay in the UK for the first part of his summer vacation before returning to Norway to visit his family. With his talent and leadership on the pitch, Odegaard is a key player in Arsenal’s plans and the club hope to retain him and continue to build around him next season.
