Arsenal are reactivating their interest in a Premier League star

According to HITC, Arsenal could reconsider the possibility of signing Douglas Luiz after postponing a possible move for the Brazilian midfielder in the past. Although Arsenal fought an intense battle with Manchester City for Declan Rice last summer, spending 105 million on the player, Arteta still believes his midfield needs to be strengthened, which could lead to the club looking for further reinforcements next year looking for transfer window at this position.

Douglas Luiz, 25, has been on Mikel Arteta’s target list for some time. Aston Villa view him as an important part of their long-term plans and set a £100m price in January to deter potential buyers.

Douglas Luiz, a necessary signing for Arteta

Aston Villa are likely to continue to rate Luiz highly, especially given that clubs such as Arsenal and Manchester City are considering a move for him. Although Aston Villa seemed interested in contract negotiations with the Brazilian, these have cooled since the turn of the year.

With Arsenal keen to restart their search for Douglas Luiz in the summer, the club could look for a long-term option in midfield alongside Declan Rice. Arsenal are now also considering other targets in this position, such as Martín Zubimendi.

Thomas Partey’s serious injury could lead to the club releasing him in the summer and looking for an excellent replacement. Although other options such as Frenkie De Jong are also being considered, Arsenal are likely to continue to keep an eye on Luiz and other key midfielders in the upcoming transfer window.
