Arsenal and Liverpool argue over signing ‘new Rodri’

The battle for emerging talent Hugo Larsson is in full swing, with Liverpool and Arsenal top of the list of suitors to sign the young Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder. The 19-year-old, whose play draws comparisons to Manchester City standout midfielder Rodri, has made a deep impression in the Bundesliga since arriving from Malmo last summer.

Liverpool and Arsenal’s interest in Larsson is growing following his notable performances against the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Liverpool in particular are looking to strengthen their midfield after several notable appearances. However, the uncertainty over Jürgen Klopp’s successor could make the negotiations even more complex.

Big fight for a commitment

In the case of Arsenal, managed by Mikel Arteta, the search for a defensive midfielder is in line with the strategy of letting Declan Rice play a more dynamic role. However, Eintracht Frankfurt, owner of Larsson until 2028, is in no hurry to sell the young talent.

Larsson’s long-term contract gives the German side the opportunity to demand a significant transfer fee, estimated at up to €80 million. The Swedish midfielder, who scored two goals and provided one assist in 17 league games, has proven to be a valuable asset with his defensive approach and ability to contribute in the attacking phase. The battle between Liverpool and Arsenal to sign him is likely to be intense and Eintracht Frankfurt are in control of the negotiations and are taking advantage of the promising Larsson’s long-term contract.
