Arsenal and Chelsea are fighting over the signing of Gabriel Moscardo

Young Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Moscardo, 18, has become one of the most sought-after targets in Europe, with Arsenal and Chelsea leading the race to sign him, Neil Jones revealed in Caught Offside. Despite mentioning interest from Liverpool, Londoners appear to be showing ‘much more interest’ in the promising Corinthians talent.

Although Liverpool have a reputation for waiting for South American talent to adapt to Europe before making a move, Moscardo has caught the attention of England’s greats early in his career. Neil Jones points out that both Chelsea and Arsenal are more active than Liverpool in their search for the young midfielder.

Arsenal in particular are looking to strengthen their midfield in the long term and Moscardo appears to be a viable replacement for Thomas Partey. While Chelsea, known for accumulating young talent, have already made several signings in the position this year, this could influence their interest in Moscardo.

The midfielder has been a revelation this season, establishing himself as a regular for Corinthians despite his youth. Although Liverpool appear to be taking a more cautious stance, Arsenal and Chelsea could have an advantage in the race to sign Moscardo, especially given Liverpool have recently strengthened their midfield.

With reports suggesting Moscardo could stay at Corinthians until next summer, competition between Arsenal and Chelsea could heat up. Both clubs want to secure the midfielder’s future and the battle to sign him could mark the next chapter of his young career.
