A promising entertainment career and a burgeoning romance were tragically cut short with the murder of Argentine singer Fede Dorcaz in Mexico on October 9. The 29-year-old artist was in a high-profile relationship with Venezuelan influencer Mariana Ávila.
The couple, known for their strong social media presence and celebrity connections, were actively involved in Televisa projects. They were slated to debut on the reality competition ‘Las Estrellas Bailan Hoy.’
Dorcaz’s death is under investigation as a presumed robbery or direct attack. Surveillance footage, shared by journalist Carlos Jiménez and reported by Infobae, suggests a targeted assault.
The video shows at least four individuals on motorcycles opening fire on Dorcaz’s vehicle. Authorities continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Mariana Ávila has publicly expressed her profound grief. She described Dorcaz as “the love of my life” and “my best friend.”
Ávila was subsequently withdrawn from ‘Las Estrellas Bailan Hoy.’ Her emotional statements highlighted Dorcaz’s “overwhelming charisma” and his generous nature.
The couple’s romance began in November 2023. They met at a holiday party hosted by influencer Fede Vigevani and reconnected days later at a music festival in Mexico.
Mariana humorously noted Dorcaz’s repeated appearances: “He passed in front of me three times, he’s appearing everywhere, something is happening here.” Dorcaz later made an “accidental” call on Instagram, initiating their conversations.
They discussed their first interaction on the radio program ‘La Caminera’.

Their first date at ‘El Cuerno’ restaurant in Mexico City led to their first kiss and a rapid connection. “We talked for four hours, laughing, it was a very good connection,” they recounted.
By January 2024, they publicly formalized their relationship. They collaborated on music, with Dorcaz featuring on Ávila’s April 2025 album “Dollypop,” including the track ‘Moka’.
Sources close to the couple indicated they had private marriage plans, prioritizing their professional growth.
Following the tragedy, Ávila first posted on X, stating, “You will always be my favorite person in the whole world, I love you, I love you, I love you and I will love you forever.”
She later addressed speculation about other individuals being present during the attack. Ávila clarified on X that Dorcaz was alone and speaking with her on the phone, characterizing it as a “failed assault.”
“What happened to him was an assault by criminals, NOTHING MORE,” Ávila wrote. “They didn’t take anything because everything got out of hand and they had to flee. Do not damage the image of someone who was always CORRECT. AN ANGEL. He worked only with his hard-earned money.”

Dorcaz’s parents, María Eugenia Trungelliti and Walter Dorcaz, traveled from Spain to Mexico. They attended his funeral and are arranging the repatriation of his remains to Argentina.
María Eugenia Trungelliti lovingly remembered her son. She said, “He was a wonderful son. I know parents always speak wonders of their children… but Fede was an incredible being, a being of light.”
