Claudia Briandi, a renowned chef and Argentine gastronomic entrepreneur, has recently launched Briandi, an online store specializing in alfajores, after leaving her previous project, Falkon empanadas. The company specializes in the production of alfajores and artisanal cookies, including innovative creations like carrot cake, red fruits, and malbec.
A Conversation with Claudia Briandi
To learn more about her career, new venture, and experiences, we interviewed Claudia Briandi. Born in Argentina, Claudia has been in Spain for over 20 years, dedicating herself to the kitchen, particularly pastries. In 2017, she co-founded Malvón empanadas with Alejandro Polo, which quickly gained popularity. However, in 2021, she decided to leave the project, feeling that she had fulfilled her cycle.
The Idea Behind Briandi
Claudia’s new project, Briandi, was born out of her passion for pastry and her desire to introduce alfajores to the Spanish market. With an average of 120 alfajores consumed per second in Argentina, Claudia saw an opportunity to fill a gap in the European market. She aims to position alfajores as a gourmet product, similar to the French macaron, which is highly valued and popular.
Sales Channels and Logistics
Currently, Briandi has launched its online store, focusing on selling online, with plans to open a physical store in Madrid in the future. The company has partnered with Correos, a transport specialized in cold products, to ensure the safe delivery of its delicate food products. Briandi delivers its products within 24 to 48 hours in Spain, with the option for same-day delivery in Madrid.
Creating a Brand from Scratch
According to Claudia, creating a brand from scratch is complicated and requires great effort. Briandi’s focus is on the product, aiming to make people enjoy and value it, and then grow from there. The company’s mission is to provide high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
