Argentina will have friendlies in Buenos Aires and Santiago del Estero

The Argentine national team will celebrate winning the World Cup with two friendlies: against Panama, on March 23 at the Monumental stadium, and against Curaçao, on the 28th in Santiago del Estero, as confirmed on Thursday by the official account of the National Team national.

Lionel Scaloni’s team that won the Qatar 2022 World Cup will open the first FIFA date of the year on March 23 against Panama, at River Plate’s renovated Monumental stadium.

Then, the team led by Lionel Messi will travel to Santiago del Estero and will appear at the Madre de Ciudades stadium against Curaçao, a modest Concacaf rival that occupies the 86th position in the FIFA ranking.

After several weeks of speculation, the official account of the World Champion Team confirmed the friendlies of the first FIFA window of 2023.

The schedules have not yet been informed and it has not been detailed how the ticket sales will be. The truth is that the Monumental stadium will be able to receive the entry of just over 83,000 spectators.

And that despite the intention of Córdoba, the president of the AFA, Claudio Tapia, chose Santiago del Estero for the second game.

The Madre de Ciudades stadium has a capacity for 30,000 people and will be the first time that it will host an Albiceleste match with an audience.

In 2021, before the Copa América, the modern venue hosted the Qualifying match against Chile, but it was played behind closed doors due to the coronavirus pandemic.
