Argentina National Team: Nico González, positive for coronavirus

Nicolás González, forward of the Fiorentina of Italy and the Argentine National Team, tested positive for coronavirus, a news that generated alarm in the coaching staff led by Lionel Scaloni, facing the next date of the Qualifiers.

The 23-year-old footballer, who has just scored a goal in the 3-0 win against Cagliari, was detected as positive in the protocol tests carried out by the Italian club and is reportedly asymptomatic.

“ACF Fiorentina announces that a positive case was found as part of the preventive tests for the detection of covid-19. The holder of the card in question is Nico González who, asymptomatic, is already in isolation,” they reported from the violet group , which this Wednesday from 3:45 p.m. will be measured against Lazio on date 10 of Serie A.

As it transpired, Scaloni will keep him in the call for the next date of the Qualifiers, since there are 13 days left until he travels to Argentina, but the presence of the attacker will depend on how the disease evolves.

The forward emerged in Argentinos Juniors is one of the footballers who is usually summoned by Scaloni. He has 15 games with the National Team and scored two goals -both in these Qualifiers-, while he was part of the champion team of America, starting four times and entering the final vs. Brazil.

In case he does not arrive in condition, his place could be taken by forward Paulo Dybala, of Juventus of Italy, already recovered from the injury that marginalized him from the last calls.
