Argentina national football team fan token drops 31 percent after losing to Saudi Arabia

Argentina is known as one of the favorites to win the World Cup in Qatar. Were it not that they lost to Saudi Arabia yesterday, a country that is one of the worse football countries in the world. In response to that event, the country’s token fell from $7.21 to $4.96.

NFT collection Saudi Arabia up

Unlike Argentina’s tokens, Saudi Arabia’s NFT collect just went up in the air. Please note: this is not an official collection. The collection is not issued by the Football Association of Saudi Arabia. Anyway, that collection went up by 52.6 percent after the game against Argentina from 0.196 Ethereum to 0.3 Ethereum. They have now cooled down to 0.225 Ethereum or about $250.

Trading volume in the collection shot up 990 percent in the past 24 hours, closing at 24.5 Ethereum. Of course, no one expected that Saudi Arabia would do anything against the strong Argentines, who include Lionel Messi in their ranks. Despite all the hype surrounding the fan tokens, the price performance is still quite good.

Fan tokens with little success

If we are to believe the analysts of Delphi Digital, the fan tokens have not been very successful so far. The token of the fan engagement platform Socios, the Chiliz (CHZ) token, has also recorded a minus of 21 percent since the start of the World Cup. In addition, Peru, Spain, Brazil, Portugal and of course Argentina are at a considerable minus. The entire index is at an average minus of 21 percent over the period of the tournament.

Many of the football tokens run on the Socios platform, which has partnerships with FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City, among others, three big names in the football world. While the tokens do not represent ownership of the team, it allows for voting on some minor decisions within the respective clubs.
