Argentina already knows its fixture for the 2022 volleyball World Cup

The Argentine men’s volleyball team already knows the fixture for the first round of the 2022 World Cup in Russia, which will begin on August 26 and end on September 11 of next year. The cast led by Marcelo Méndez, located sixth in the world ranking, will share Group F, where it will be seeded, with Egypt (19th), the Netherlands (15th) and Iran (10th).

As for the matches, it will debut on August 27, at 6 (Argentine time) against Egypt; it will continue on the 28th of the same month, at 10, against the Netherlands; and will complete the zone on the 29th, at 6, with the duel against Iran.

The tournament will have 24 teams divided into six zones from four countries in the first phase: Group A is made up of local and recent Olympic runners-up Russia, Serbia, Tunisia and Puerto Rico; B will have Brazil, Japan, Cuba and Qatar; the C to the current two-time world champion Poland, the United States, Mexico and Bulgaria; the D to the last Olympic gold France, Slovenia, Germany and Cameroon; and the E to Italy, Canada, Turkey and China.

There will be six venues for the contest: Moscow, Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Ufa, Yekaterinburg and Krasnoyarsk, where Argentina will play the first phase. The National Team was bronze in the 1982 World Cup but has been 15th in the 2018 edition.

After obtaining the bronze medal at the Tokyo 2022 Olympic Games, the Albiceleste selected closed the season with a second place in the South American, which guaranteed his place in the 2022 World Championship.
