The actor Arap Bethke transcends borders and arrives in the Dominican Republic to shoot the film “El Regreso”, where he shares leading credits with Mexican actresses Denia Agalianou, Mara Cuevas and Dominican María del Mar Bonnelly.
“I am very excited to be a part of ‘El Regreso.’ From the moment I read the script, I knew it was a very special film. The story is moving, frank and original. I am also very excited to be part of this boom in Dominican cinema that has quality and international projection. I am extremely grateful to the producer Hans García and Ingrid Cruz for trusting me with this project,” said Bethke, chosen one of the 50 Most Beautiful of 2023, according to People en Español magazine.
The feature film by director Ingrid Cruz Espinal addresses the issue of mental health and the importance of seeking help.
“It is a story that makes us reflect on who we truly are and what makes us happy. It is about a constant search to find our origin, our place and above all our emotional stability”, expressed Cruz Espinal.
The story of this film revolves around the reunion with family origins. “Danna is a successful woman who discovers by chance that she has a biological sister. After several visits to the Dominican Republic to participate in various editions of the Dominican Global Film Festival and the Soberano Awards, Arap did not hesitate to agree to travel to the Caribbean country again to film this film, as he has done in other movie meccas.
“El Regreso” is a production of the production house Hannah Films under the production of the outstanding director and producer Hans García. The film is developed thanks to the incentive of Law 108-10 that promotes the growth and encouragement of Dominican cinema.
