Aramco took a big step

Saudi company Aramco has officially opened a new fiberglass production center to reduce steel series consumption.

According to Arab media, Saudi company Aramco has developed fiber reinforced polymer glass with the help of metallic and modern polymers, which is a non-corrosive alternative to steel and a quarter of which is twice as strong as steel.

Fiberglass production will reduce steel consumption in the country by about 50,000 tonnes per annum.

Aramco officials say the use of non-metallic, advanced polymer materials has significant potential in many areas.

In addition, technologies such as GFRP Rebar, which reduce corrosion and lifecycle costs, have the potential to be a real game changer, especially for the building and construction sectors.

“Being in Saudi Arabia is important to our reputation and success,” said Nick Crafts, CEO of Matin Bar.

“The country is progressive and fast adopting new technology, and we are proud to be a part of its development and success,” he added.
