Apple’s Foldable iPhone to Feature Seamless Screen and High-Quality Hinge Design

Apple’s foldable iPhone is shaping up to be a real showstopper. Mark Gurman, a Bloomberg analyst, recently spilled some juicy details about the upcoming device in his Power On newsletter.

One major advantage the iPhone Fold will have over its competitors is its nearly invisible crease. Gurman claims Apple has managed to minimize the fold line, making it almost seamless. This is a huge deal, as other foldable phones often have noticeable creases that can be distracting.

This isn’t just speculation – Business Korea reports that Samsung Display is already working on producing the screens for Apple’s foldable iPhone. They’re expected to ramp up production in the second half of 2026. Samsung Display has apparently found a way to reduce the crease, making the screen look more like a single, large panel.

The iPhone Fold will also have a more robust hinge than its competitors. While Gurman didn’t go into detail, Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst, previously suggested that the hinge will be made from a mix of titanium and stainless steel. Some rumors even point to the use of “Liquid Metal,” a material Apple has experimented with in the past.

Specs and Features

Kuo also shared some other specs we can expect from the iPhone Fold:

  • 7.8-inch foldable screen
  • 5.5-inch cover screen
  • Dual rear cameras
  • Single front camera
  • Touch ID sensor integrated into the power button (instead of Face ID)
  • High-density battery

When folded, the phone is expected to be around 9.5mm thick, and when unfolded, it’ll be about 4.5mm thick.

The iPhone Fold is likely to be a premium device with a hefty price tag – potentially over $2,000.
