Apple’s decision to increase iPhone production in India

New Delhi: Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal has said that the American technology company Apple, which manufactures the iPhone, is now increasing the production of its phones in India.

He said this while addressing the press conference. He said that the Apple company will produce 25 percent of its production in India.

He said that earlier Apple used to produce five to seven percent in India, which is going to increase a lot now, which is a big success of Apple company.

Apple has now decided to increase its production of iPhones in India after reducing its dependence on China for the production of its products.

In September last year, Apple also introduced the new iPhone 14, which was assembled in India. Apple has been manufacturing iPhones in India since 2017 but they were usually older models.

It should be remembered that after the resurgence of the Covid-19 epidemic in China last year, workers’ protests at the world’s largest iPhone factory in Zhengzhou, China, controlled by Foxconn, stopped production.
