Recently, the tech news site MacRumors added more details to the story. They reported that this new, cheaper MacBook could cost around $599 to $699. If true, it would be the most affordable MacBook ever made. To give you some context, the 13-inch MacBook Air currently starts at $999 in the United States.
MacRumors also hinted that this new laptop might feature a 12.9-inch display. That’s actually a bit smaller than the current MacBook Air, which measures 13.6 inches diagonally. What’s more, production might ramp up soon. Apple is expected to start ordering some components for this new model by the end of September 2025.
