Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently shared a new report on the next-generation Apple Watch Ultra on the Medium platform. According to the information collected by the analyst, the second generation of this watch will be launched this year.
Furthermore, the report in question claims that Apple is embracing a new 3D printing technology. Technology that will play an active role in the construction process of the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 will feature 3D printed parts
One of Apple’s goals for the production of its products is the adoption of a new 3D printing technology. This technology should be responsible for the production of the mechanical parts of the Apple Watch Ultra that will be released in the second half of 2023.
This statement confirms two points about the future of American technology. First of all, the company plans to release a new Apple Watch Ultra model later this year.
Second, some of the mechanical parts of this watch will be made using 3D printing technology. This range of parts includes the digital crown of the watch, the side button and the action button.
Apple’s objective with the use of 3D printing is to improve the production times of its products and reduce the associated costs. If this project goes as planned, more North American teams will adopt 3D printed parts.
It is not the first time that there has been talk of the presentation of the new generation of Apple Watch Ultra at the end of this year. Another voice in this rumor is that of journalist Mark Gurman, who said that a new Ultra model would be released with the Apple Watch Series 9.
Looking at Apple customs, the Apple Watch Series 9 will be presented in September, when the iPhone 15 is revealed. The company will therefore be able to take advantage of this stage to renew its robust watch.
For now, it’s all just a rumor. However, if these are indeed Apple’s plans, it won’t be long before more information about the Apple Watch Ultra 2 emerges.
