Alfonso Cuarón returns with a new project: Disclaimer series coming to Apple TV+

Alfonso Cuarón may have been absent from the spotlight recently, but he’s back with a big bang. The acclaimed director is working on a new project, a limited series titled Disclaimer, scheduled to premiere on Apple TV+ in 2024.

The series is originally from the “La Manzanita” platform and will be written and directed by Cuarón himself, who is known for his work on films like Roma and Gravity. The project also features director of photography Emmanuel Lubezki, another Mexican talent and a frequent collaborator of Cuarón’s.

The cast of the show is impressive, with Cate Blanchett starring alongside Kevin Kline, Sacha Baron Cohen, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Esley Manville, Louis Partridge, Leila George, and Hoyeon.

The thriller follows Catherine Ravenscroft, a well-known journalist who built her reputation exposing the misdeeds of others, as she receives a novel by an unknown author that reveals her darkest secrets. As the story unfolds, Catherine must confront her past to prevent it from destroying her life and relationship with her family.

The first two episodes of Disclaimer will be available on Apple TV+ on October 11, with subsequent episodes released every Friday until November 15, 2024.
