Apple Takes Third Place in Thailand’s Smartphone Market Ahead of Xiaomi and Vivo

Samsung and OPPO are going head-to-head in Thailand’s smartphone market. IDC reports that Samsung still holds the top spot, but OPPO is closing in. This is based on 2024 sales data.

Thailand’s economy is growing slowly, but smartphone sales jumped 17.1% last year. IDC says this is due to promotions and discounts from manufacturers in a crowded market.

The budget smartphone segment (under 7,000 baht) now makes up 56.9% of the market. Premium phones (over 34,000 baht) are losing ground, down to 9%. The average smartphone price in Thailand is 11,300 baht, a 7.5% drop.

5G phones are getting more popular, especially affordable Android devices. The top 5 brands in Thailand are:

  • Samsung: 19.4%
  • OPPO: 19.2%
  • Apple: 15.9%
  • Xiaomi: 14.7%
  • vivo: 12.3%
