Apple prepares the long-awaited iMac Pro with new M3 processor

Renowned journalist Mark Gurman began another week with the launch of the new edition of Newsletter Switched on. In this document, we have new predictions that are sure to please professionals who rely heavily on Apple products.

Contrary to various rumors in recent months, Mark Gurman ensures that the legendary iMac Pro will return to the market. The next version of this functional machine will arrive in 2023 with the new M3 processor.

The iMac Pro arrives in 2023 with a new M3-series processor

In recent months, there have been several sources that point to the discontinuation of the iMac Pro. Supposedly, this product is no longer part of Apple’s plans, however, this thesis is refuted by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.

He believes that Apple is developing a new iMac, with a larger screen, aimed at the professional market. A description that fits perfectly with the concept we know of the iMac Pro.

The next product should only be presented in 2023 and will feature a new processor belonging to the series of potato chips M3. Strictly speaking, it will feature the M3 Pro and M3 Max, as well as the 14-inch and 16-inch versions of the MacBook Pro.

It should be noted that the M3 series of processors has not yet been announced, something that, apparently, will happen as early as 2023. These new processors will have to comply with the new 3nm lithography from TSMC offering higher performance and greater energy efficiency.

The new iMac Pro will integrate Apple’s portfolio along with a new version of the 24-inch iMac with an M3 processor. In addition, this model should only be updated next year, but with the base version of the next American processors.

This will be the direct update of the current 24-inch iMac with M1 processor. The absence of plans for a version with chip M2 indicates that the American company will only update this product in 2023.
