THE Apple it has already released the iOS 15.3 and iPadOS 15.3 updates to the general public, which also kicked off a new beta build cycle. In fact, we now have trial versions of iOS 15.4 Y iPad OS 15.4 available to the public.
Among the novelties of the trial version we have the possibility of making payments with a protection mask with recognition and authentication by the FaceID system. In addition, we also have a roll of 36 new emoji that includes a pregnant man, among others.
You can now try iOS 15.4 on iPhone and iPadOS 15.4 on iPad
The new emojis add forms of expression through images, and can be used in different contexts from the iPhone and iPad. There are more than 30 new faces and symbols that we can use with the arrival of iOS 15.4.
We also have the ability to add iCloud Keychain passwords to our notes. In this way, we have the same implementation in the Apple ecosystem as in third-party solutions.
tvOS 15.4 also follows among the more discreet news. In fact, for this platform it is now possible to use the iPhone to find Wi-Fi networks connected to Apple TV. This will be particularly useful in hotels and office buildings.
Payments with FaceID and Protection Mask in iOS 15.4
This is possibly the biggest novelty of iOS 15.4, which allows users to make payments by phone with authentication through FaceID, even with a mask. We remember that last year Apple launched support for unlocking iPhones with Apple Watch when the user was wearing a mask.
Now, however, iOS 15.4 takes this feature to a new level of accessibility. Note, however, that the user will have to configure this new service first. Subsequently, the system will recognize the user’s face, even with a mask (or glasses), with greater precision.
During the configuration, the system will give some advice to the user, focusing, for example, on the area around the eyes to obtain more authentication points. Note, however, that this feature will only be available on iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 generations.
Universal Control arrived with iOS 15.4
The feature was introduced and promised several months ago by Apple. Thus, it finally reaches the iPhone and iPad chosen for this update also in Portugal.
This feature allows the user to control their Mac computer and iPad tablet through the same mouse and keyboard or trackpad. It’s a powerful accessibility feature, available after activation in the latest beta versions like iPadOS 15.4 and macOS Monterey 12.3.
We also have news for Apple Card with a new widget capable of showing the balance of the card. In this way, with a quick glance we can see the current state of it. There are also improvements to AirPods and their audio quality during a phone call.
Finally, for users in Europe we have another nice advantage with iOS 15.4. In fact, it is now possible to add the COVID digital certificate to the Saúde e Carteira application.
