Introduced by Apple last week, the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBooks start reaching buyers for the first time this week. But a few days before that happened, the first real images of the 14-inch model appeared online.
An authorized Apple retailer had prior access to the laptop and uploaded images to MacRumors that give us a better idea of the design changes imposed by Apple.
The redesigned bodywork is the first big change on these new models. Over the years, Apple has been accused of privileging design over functionality. And that does not happen in these models.
This happens not only to cover the new processor or more battery, but to cover the ports that Apple eliminated in 2016. These models not only bring back the MagSafe load, but also the HDMI and SD card ports.

The screen also underwent notable changes, with very narrow margins. But the most controversial feature is the top center notch, which houses the front camera and sensors.
As you can see from the screenshot, this will be noticeable if you are not using something in full screen. Additionally, the ever-present status bar at the top of Macs has also been increased to accommodate this detail.
The keyboard change is also noticeable. Not only has the Touch Bar disappeared on these new models, the keyboard is now completely black, as are the spaces around the keys. The trackpad remains unchanged.
Apparently the computer is “heavier than expected” and the notch is not intrusive. The MacBook Pro starts at € 2,349 in Portugal.
