Apple leaves Samsung behind in the most coveted segment of the smartphone market

The conclusions of the market analysis agency are unequivocal. The premium smartphone segment’s contribution to total global sales has increased. While in the second quarter of 2020 this segment represented 21% of total global sales, in 2021 this figure increased to 24%.

We also see Samsung contracting slightly in its second place, but it can now regain some of the market share with the new generation of folding smartphones. Remember, by the way, that the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 3 would be presented last August, well into the third quarter of the year.

Concomitantly with the publication of this study, sales of the new generation of iPhones, the Apple iPhone 13, begin today. Prices in Portugal start at € 829, thus contributing to the smartphone segment in question.
