Apple’s Digital Car Key allows users to unlock and start a compatible vehicle by holding an iPhone or Apple Watch next to the driver’s door.
Car keys are stored in the Wallet app, just like a credit card. For now, this feature is limited to select BMW, Kia and Genesis vehicles.
now a new app called “Car Key Tests” allows MFi-licensed developers to test and validate their own integration of digital car key technology, which Apple announced in July 2022.
