Apple is expected to significantly increase the prices of the new MacBook Pro

Since this year’s WWDC, Apple fans have been looking forward to the launch of the new MacBook Pro. Since the new laptops were not revealed at that event, they are now expected to be unveiled in the fall.

Two models based on the same M1X SoC are expected, giving it similar performance. However, this will have a negative impact on its price, at least for the consumer.

The new MacBook Pro can exceed € 2,000

The theory is advanced by Youtuber Luke Miani. In one of his most recent videos on upcoming Apple laptops, he says that the 14-inch MacBook Pro can start at the 1799 dollars or 1600 euros.

It should be noted that these values refer to the American market, where prices are usually lower than those charged in Europe. In this sense, Miani’s forecast may place the new MacBook Pro very close to € 2,000 when it arrives in Portugal.

Figures shown are for the 14-inch model with 10 CPU cores, 16 GPU cores, 16 GB of RAM, and 512 GB of internal memory. There may be other variants of the same laptop with even spicier prices depending on the hardware chosen by the consumer.

If the new 14-inch MacBook Pro will see a price increase, so will the 16-inch model. This will certainly exceed the € 2,000 threshold, as the source is targeting a base price of 2399 dollars or 2144 euros.

Despite the same processor (M1X) as the smaller model, the variant with 16-inch screen will inevitably be more expensive. It will also see a significant increase in its recommended retail price, something that certainly won’t appeal to fans.

In addition to the new processor, the displays will help justify this price increase in the MacBook Pro line. Both models are expected to adopt the mini-LED technology introduced in the new 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
