Analyst Jeff Pu is back with his predictions for Apple’s new high-end lineup. According to its most recent note to investors, all iPhone 14s will have ProMotion-powered displays.

This was one of the main novelties that Apple presented in 2021 with the launch of the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. In fact, both devices have a screen with a variable refresh rate of 120 Hz.

The four iPhone 14 will have a refresh rate of 120 Hz

The difference felt between the base iPhone 13 and the respective Pro models will be undone in 2022. This means that Apple will extend ProMotion technology to all the devices that make up the high-end iPhone 14 lineup.

Thanks to the use of screens with LTPO technology, the new iPhone 14 will have a variable refresh rate depending on the content presented. Strictly speaking, these panels will oscillate between 1 Hz in situations such as reading texts and 120 Hz in more demanding situations such as games.

This behavior is intended to save the power consumption of the computer. By lowering the screen refresh rate in some situations, you avoid unnecessary consumption of power resources.

The introduction of ProMotion technology was one of the promotional flags of the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. It was one of the ways to present added value to the more expensive models and try to convince users to choose to buy them.

In 2022, however, Apple will have other ambitions to differentiate the various ranges of its new equipment. In particular, with the removal of the notch on the iPhone 14 Pro in favor of a small hole or tablet-shaped cutout.

iPhone 14 will have 6 GB of RAM

In the same document, Jeff Pu corrects one of his previous predictions about the amount of RAM in the iPhone 14. The new prediction is that all members of this product line will have 6 GB of RAM.

Previously, the same analyst mentioned that the iPhone 14 Pro would make the leap to 8 GB of RAM. However, the reduction in the production costs of the equipment will have caused Apple to change its mind and advance with 6 GB for all smartphones.

The commitment to a 48 MP primary sensor for new Apple smartphones is also reinforced. As for internal storage, Jeff Pu points out that the iPhone 14 Pro will start at 256 GB.
