Apple blocks adult content in immersive VR on the Apple Vision Pro

Apple has disabled this Safari’s ability to display adult content in virtual reality (VR) on its new Vision Pro headset.

Although the Cupertino company has always had a strict policy of not allowing applications with pornographic content on iPhones and iPads, had never attempted to deny users access to content of their choice over the Internet.

The situation is different with Macs, where, like other computers, users can install their own applications and display the content they want in the way they prefer.

Although Vision Pro users are not blocked from adult content through Safari itself, Apple has prevented the ability to view adult content in immersive VR mode, a feature that has not been blocked on other VR headsets from various manufacturers. Users can still watch adult content on a “flat” screen.

The adult industry has historically driven mass adoption of new technologies, but it appears Apple is poised to cede that market share to other headset makers.
