Apple: AR/VR headsets may come with an unexpected name

Apple is expected to introduce its much-talked about AR/VR headset at the upcoming WWDC conference starting on June 5.

Now the news has come out that the Cupertino company has discreetly registered an unexpected name that could even be the trade name of the innovative team.

Apple AR/VR headsets may be called xrProOS

There is no official confirmation yet, but there are many sources saying that at the WWDC conference, which will take place from June 5 to 9, Apple will reveal the much-anticipated and much-talked-about AR/VR headset.

Much has been said about this equipment that until now was known as Reality Pro. But, according to the latest rumors, Apple could have a new and unexpected commercial name for the device.

Rumor has it that the Cupertino company quietly registered the name “xrProOS” in several countries, namely Argentina, Turkey, the Philippines, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom.

It should be noted that in none of these countries has Apple registered this trade name in its own name. The brand turned to a company called Deep Dive for registration, but the action was still discovered.

It should be remembered that the first application for the “xrProOS” trademark was made in Jamaica on April 27 of this year. In several situations, Apple has already registered in Jamaica because Jamaica does not allow searching its trademark database online, which guarantees some secrecy.

But beware, the name xrProOS is not the only one registered by the Cupertino company. Apple has also registered the trademarks Reality One, Reality Processor, Optica, and Deep Screen. Either of these options is easier to remember than xrProOS.

For this reason, some sources suggest that the name xrProOS could be the designation of an advanced version of the new headphones. But of course this is speculation, without any kind of official confirmation or usual reliable leaks from Apple.

Then we will have to wait for this year’s edition of the WWDC conference to have more details about the device, assuming that it will be one of the stars presented at the event.
